Donald Franklin Taylor went to be with the Lord on December 10, 2023. Born on May 16, 1935, he was the first of three sons born to Franklin and Elizabeth Kish Taylor in Cleveland, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, by brothers Ralph and Robert, and by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Educated in Ohio public schools, he graduated from Independence High School in 1953. He attended Bob Jones University and graduated with a double major in 1959. In later years, he earned a Master of Arts degree from Georgia State University.
Don's professional life included public school teaching and pastoring. He built several churches and was active in pastoral ministry in three different districts of the Assemblies of God over a forty year period.
He is survived by Janice Ward, his wife of 63 years; two sons, David (Angela) and Timothy (Inga), and five grandchildren (Hanan, Mark, Noah and Benjamin, Theodore).
Burial will be in the church cemetery of New Hope Assembly of God in Graceville, Florida.
A Memorial service was held Saturday, December 16 at 11am at The Assembly, 2925 West Palmetto St, Florence, SC.
